The latest deviceTRUST 21.1.300 for Ubuntu is now available.

NetBIOS Name Template

This template creates a configuration that disconnects the session after an idle period which differs between meeting rooms (30 minutes idle time) and other locations (10 minutes idle time) based on the NetBIOS name of the remote device. It can be found in the MEETING ROOM category when filtered for REMOTE platform.

deviceTRUST requires some simple but essential configuration steps to be performed to enable the template for your remoting and DaaS environments. We will guide you step-by-step through simple deviceTRUST configuration steps to enable the template within your remoting or DaaS environment.

We will perform the following steps:

  1. Step 1: Prerequisites
  2. Step 2: Contexts
  3. Step 3: Actions

Step 1: Prerequisites

If the required deviceTRUST components (Agent, Console, Client Extension and License) are not yet installed, please visit the Getting Started for Remoting and DaaS guide and complete step 1 to 5 and then continue here with step 2 below.

Step 2: Contexts

The template has imported the following contexts:

Context Description Customizations
Session Idle
Defines if the session is idle for remote devices. Differs between meeting rooms and other locations based on the device’s NetBIOS name.
You must update the following context condition with data suitable for your environment:

Replace MEETING_ROOM_DEVICE_NAME_X with your meeting room device name.
  • If a context is not needed, it can be deactivated or deleted. In addition, the corresponding task sequence within the relevant action must be deleted too.

Step 3: Actions

The template includes an enforcement action that actively controls access to the session. By default, the enforcement action is enabled.

Action Description Default State Customizations
Session Idle - Conditional Access - Enforcement Disconnects the session for remote devices if the session becomes idle. Activated None
  • If the action has been disabled, the context will still be created.
